Merger of Bresnan Walsh with Macfarlane + Co.

We are delighted to announce the merger of
Bresnan Walsh with Macfarlane + Co.

It’s not often that you find firms that have such a similar tradition and ethos of client centred service. But both Macfarlane + Co. and Bresnan Walsh have a very similar client base, acting for many years for family owned companies, personal taxation, trusts and charities which form the greater part of both firms’ work. We both have particular niches in the charity and trust sectors and a long and demonstrable track record of expertise in taxation advice.

The particular benefit of the merger with Bresnan Walsh is that nothing will change so far as our client services are concerned, with our particular & shared emphasis on quality of service, approachability and friendliness. But this merger, particularly with the recent welcome addition to our ranks of the Waterloo office of Gasking Lace & Co, will provide the combined firm with a very strong base to move forwards for the future, to develop and build on our services to our clients. For example, we will act for over 135 charities, making us beyond doubt one of the leading North West charity specialist firms.

We are therefore confident that this means we will be very well placed indeed to help our clients to move forward, to respond to the challenges that the future holds for us all.

Inevitably, we will need to relocate to larger offices to house our combined teams of nearly 50 staff and partners. The new premises have already been identified, and plans are currently being drawn up for the new suite of offices which will be very much in keeping with our tradition of a quality, modern but affordable service.
